This policy covers the Assistant app and its self-hosted backend ("Assistant").
If you connect a Google account, Assistant requests read-only access to: your email address (to identify the connected account), Gmail messages and settings, Google Drive files, Google Calendar events, Google Contacts and Google Tasks. Assistant never requests permission to send, modify or delete anything in your Google account.
Google data is used only to provide features you ask for inside Assistant: answering your questions about your mail, files, calendar, contacts and tasks, and notifying you about new messages that match filters you set. It is not used for advertising, not sold, not used to train AI models, and not shared with anyone except as described below.
Assistant's backend runs on hardware controlled by the account owner, not on servers operated by a third party. OAuth tokens are stored on that machine with owner-only file permissions and are never shown to the AI model. To answer a request, the relevant excerpts of your data are sent to the AI model provider configured by the owner, solely to generate the response. No other transfer takes place.
Retrieved content may be kept in the conversation history on the owner's machine. Disconnecting Google in the app revokes the token and deletes it from the backend; you can also revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Conversation history can be deleted by the owner.
Assistant's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
